I was looking for a suitable rifle scope to run on a Short Barrel NFA Rifle for some time, when Vector released the new Continental x10 ED FFP it gave me a prime opportunity to test out the capabilities on my custom .300 Blackout SBR Ar15 Rifle.
This scope is idea for competitive and tactical shooter as LVPO scopes typically allows shooters to adjust the magnification of their target from low to high power in a fast and efficient manner in tense and stressful conditions typically found when shooting competition and in tactical situation where fast target acquisition is critical. LVPO stands for Low Variable Power Optic, and it typically ranges from 1x to 10x magnification. This rifle scope has several benefits for different shooting scenarios, such as:
- It offers versatility and flexibility for close to medium range engagements, as well as long range precision shots.
- It allows the shooter to quickly switch between different magnification levels, depending on the situation and the target distance.
- It provides a clear and bright image of the target, with minimal distortion or parallax error.
- It is durable and reliable, with shockproof, waterproof, and fog-proof features.
- It is compatible with most rifles and mounting systems and can be used with various illumination options.
Upon Unboxing you know right off the quality of this scope. It is typical of all Continental lines of Vector Optics. The scope is feature rich and has many desired features, such as a 34mm main tube, 11 Levels of Illumination powered by a single cr2032 battery. The German engineered glass is extremely clear edge to edge.
Once mounted I did my typical test that included the box test. Running the test, the reticle returned to zero every time. I really appreciated the locking turrets and the zero-stop feature that is so desirable for competitive shooters and hunters alike. Now that I was satisfied that it passed the basic box test, it was time to take this to the range.
I decided to place this on my AR platform chambered for .300 Blackout. Although this scope is shock tested to 1000g and will handle the recoil of a .338 Lapua. When I tested this at the range, I shot a total of 400 rounds throughout the day engaging steel and paper targets and at distances from 25, 50, 75 ,100 and 200 yards respectively. At all distances and magnification ranges I always had a clear sight picture. I encountered ZERO issues with this scope/ The eye relief was generous and had a forgiving eye box. All of which is important for fast target acquisition.
So, what’s not to like about this scope? If there was one single change I would make, and that change is not to the scope itself, would be to use taller rings. This scope comes with low height scope rings. I would prefer high or extra high for most AR platforms. The low rings are included, and many scopes do not include rings at all so this is not a complaint as these rings will work well on several firearms, however the one I chose would be better suited for taller rings. You get a free set of rings so if you need taller rings simply order a taller set and problem solved. So, depending on your rifle platform you may or may not have to change the rings. Just something to keep in mind with any scope.
My overall thoughts on this scope are that it is a stellar scope for the price. It will be hard to beat the clarity and quality of the Vector Continental x10 1-10 ED Tactical Scope. If you shoot competition, or tactical situation this would be a great choice for those shooting disciplines.
